From the looks of it.. We're going in circles.
Id say.. People can of course participate or contribute on helping this idea, but since this is only a suggestion, and we're always rumbling on around about leisure suits and dresses and princess security guards...
The ideas conclusion still goes to the main mods and admins. If they support this, then we might as well help each other, or atleast me and majestic (That is if you are also interested helping of course mate, until your problem is solved with the PC), other then that..We should still also conclude into an end on what sort of clothing do we want atleast that would more or less go in well with the game and others. Please not latex suits.. i may enjoy some latex suits.. but you get the idea.
And again.. The last word goes for the higher up people, if they support this idea.
Until then, discuss as much as you can. Just don't suggest Japanese school girl security officers..

Of course it's a circle.
It's because no one here is a idiot. So we both are making valid points and counter points and we eventually both run out of arguments.
What do you expect, it's not like we are a bunch of politicians pissing about gay marriage. Neither of us have a definitive correct argument.

5-10 minute breaks.
Let's look at the reality of things here. Most of us take much, much longer breaks. It's how we do.

This thread is an example of how the suggestion forum is supposed to work, someone suggests an idea and everyone discusses it until they run out of things to say, or until the head admins and developers decide if it will get implemented or not.
On the suggested idea, I'm on the fence. One side, it's a workplace, you're given a uniform to wear and you have to wear it at work. The other side is, having a uniform for so long would cause it to become personalized in some way or another. Unless you're in a job like the military, where you have to look exact.

I mean, we have formal attire crates, collectible hat crates, etc. So a few extra pieces of clothing wouldn't hurt.
But never, NEVER are we going to have the stuff from Alium. I've seen people walk around in such attire...that...it's awful.
Yes, I like the idea of alternative uniforms, maybe a few non-jumpsuits. I myself like to wear shirts and pants separately on my characters, so why not?

My only thoughts on this is that there should be a revamp done to the locker rooms, alternate versions of pre-existing job uniforms and the like. Example: There's a variant of the Roboticist jumpsuit you can get. It's maybe blue or gold instead of red-trimmed, but the Head of Personnel has to enable the dispenser you can get it from (and it disables after the transaction) because it's for those in the department with seniority and expertise. Others in the department are supposed to defer to you - you know your shit and how to follow standard operating procedure.
Maybe also have 'formal dress' vending machines that better facilitate the whole Glitz and Glamour event that always goes so horribly wrong?
Another thought: Uniforms with no variance are HORRIBLE for morale. Happy workers work faster - this is a fact. So having more variations of the jumpsuits - maybe that you can toggle preference of/spawn in with randomly - would make sense. I mean, you come to work in it, so I assume it's something your character buys/is furnished outside of work and has some range of choice on the style of.

Oh hai gais.
(I like how I kinda started a big debate~)
I'm just poppin' in to see how the discussion is going. You know. About clothes and stuff.
I'm a bit lazy to read through ALL the posts since last time I looked, so I'mma just post my final idea right here:
NT = serious peeps who want efficent work quality for maximum profit on investments. Proper work uniforms = contribution to efficiency. So NSS Aurora + random new clothes = dumb, and not what NT would do. However, NSS Aurora + different styles of current work uniform while not straying away from the purpose of said uniform and color scheme too much for the sake of variety = OKEI.

Okei I might have gone back now and read some posts of people and ohmaigoshigottaaddsomestuff.
Everything Tool has said so far- basically exactly my idea. Dresses and shit, not really needed on a high tech research facility. Therefore can be seen as money misplaced, and wasted. And some people make the (easily made) mistake of seeing our SHIFTS as days of work almost. Its a shift. Yea we have dorms and stuff but that's there because it has to be there on all space outposts and stations. I mean our outposts even have some rooms with beds and stuff. This is relating to Tool's post on the fact that "When ISN'T it time to work on a station?" True, there is such a thing as a slow shift and the like. But point is there is ALWAYS something to do. So yea. Just something I want to leave here. Fer the lulz.

I'm just going to say something. Can the formal wear closet be changed so as to include dresses? Or maybe a separate locker for dresses that can be ordered? Because when there was need for them, they weren't there until an admin spawned them in.

That's because there shouldn't be need of them, in normal situations. Any formal wear as such (should it be required for a special event... Like a NT offical or something) would and should be aquired via means of ordering through the cargo department.

Right, but when there was need of them (Such as in the Glitz and Glamour event), we found that all the clothes in that formal wear locker were for MEN. For all the female characters, admins had to spawn in dresses and such.

We need scarves. And beanies. And more hats.

We need scarves. And beanies. And more hats. Scarves/beanies whilst looking cool would serve no purpose. The station itself has a (under normal conditions) constant 20'C air conditioned atmosphere. Thus why the only traditional cold weather gear is on the holodeck.

Perhaps we need some airy/stuffy clothes for them?

Okay, my thoughts on this topic..."My 2d spessman must look better than other 2d spessman"But to be srs now, I don't think that the extra clothing would be too -different- from each other, so me thinks the same way as Majestik does.
