That was really overly long and silly, to say that it's a naval vessel, Majestic-buns. It doesn't really matter, because no one gives a shit, and like 80% of the crew is civilian. Everyone just scavenges for a decent look, because EVERYONE LOOKS THE SAME. That, and it's proven that depression rises like fourty percent at schools with mandated outfits. So, some mild variations for the civilian/non medical and security jobs would probably not be too fucking off. That, and jumpsuits are the oldest looking thing in existence. They are probably meant to refer to those 70's sci fi flicks, but all the new sprites are meant to not even look like jumpsuits, but outfits. MORE RANDOM CLOTHES, I SAY. Or at least, clothes that can match a job and add mild variety.

Army-style fatigues for security would be nice.

Its not a school, Nik, if you can't handle order don't sign up. And isn't looking the same one of the things to accomplish in terms of looking at least a bit orderly? Besides, we don't all look the same. We are all a specific species with a specific eye color and hair color and skin color with our own style (facial) hair. Like I said, the station isn't a place for you to worry about other people's or your own appearance too much (in the terms of looking fashionable or some crap like that).

He was using school more as an example, really. And yeah, slightly more varied outfits could help morale. It's the little things that count.

We have that, furcri.
The security guys get quite a variety of work uniforms of varying color schemes- not to mention the several choices in head wear.
Also, I don't see what the fuss is about in the terms of "looking alike". I see it as a way to identify colleagues and such. Not to mention, we don't actually look alike. Its not a huge variety, but each department has different looking uniforms/jumpsuits for different roles within the department. For example roboticists have that awesome red 'n black gig going on. And atmos tech's get a different jumpsuit as to regular engineers.
Oh, and I don't think NT bothers so much with the little things. 'Slong as you get your job done and bring in the profits for NT, they're happy.

Compromise: variations of each wings outfits so that people can have some fashion.

No, we have NO differences. Because we have limited options that make up our size, face and hair. Most of these have none.
That's a problem.

I don't see that much of a problem. We get people who look alike in real life, too. But that's hardly the case with this game, because it is rarely a problem. There are A LOT of things to choose from...

You know, I could dress up as fab as I wanted to when I go to work. I could bring my best leather jacket and band shirts to a construction field if I wanted to. Would I do that, though? No. I'm gonna get them covered in cement, mud, and plaster. It would get in my way. I don't want to get my shirt dirty while I work, despite working in a place that inevitably gets you dirty. I'd probably be let off if I did that.
Now apply that logic to the space station. It IS a work place. A professional work place. Why would, say an engineer, bring his favorite leather jacket to work?

I'm just said. A thing.
Just add a few variations of jumpsuits for each wing.

Or you could justify it that you can get into grub with Internal Affairs. Because it can be seen as a inefficient approach to doing your job. For example, if your job was to run around a atheltics track, and you accepted, your employers provide you with running shorts, a comfortable t-shirt and socks with running shoes. But you go and wear a tight fitting suit with leather shoes and a tie. Not only will you look silly and bring shame to your employers, but you're gonna be doing worse than if you wore the right clothes for the job. Even though it could be very very small, the impact will still be there on the charts- even for a simple thing like this. And last thing a successful business person wants is a decline in profit- no matter how small. Because it all comes down to: I am not making as much money as I could, therefore I am wasting resources.

Well Jesus, I don't see how someone wearing a t-shirt and jeans fucks profit margins.
Maybe I'm just stupid, though.
But, like, for real. T shirt and jeans. Maybe add variations to the shirt to signify department affiliation? You can't really go wrong with that.
I'm getting majorly fucking bored of jumpsuits, though, I won't lie.

Well Jesus, I don't see how someone wearing a t-shirt and jeans fucks profit margins. It doesn't. Not too much to worry the average business dude. But take a huge production line of human workers, say putting together toys? Now, in their work overalls they put together a (random figure) total of 100 toys a day. Now stick 'em all in something outrageous like a pair of skinny jeans or a formal dress, and they could produce 90-99 toys. This can be because of stopping for just a second to adjust your shirt, or fix your dress or whatever. Or getting irritated with your not-so-comfortable choice in attire. Anyway, the toys are like a buck each and the manager shrugs it off as no big deal. However the guy sitting working out the charts he looks and sees a big big problem. Even if they only made one less toy each, and the toys are cheap as chips, in large quanitity and over a period of time it will make a hole in profits. Give it long enough and it is a hole to worry about- maybe even fire a manager.
