Let's toss this up.
I say Blue since it is psychologically, the ideal color for a security or policing force.
Also, I'd argue that Security is a policing force, since Nanotrasen is more or less a governing force over stations, colonies, planets, etc. They make the laws, and Security upholds them. Ie, a policing force.
Thus, having them in Red is a poor idea, as red is a color for scaring people. Red is the color of the bad guys in nearly anything, or the antagonist of it, or anything. Red gives a instinctual reminder of blood, which means violence (usually. in a notable symbol, the colors meaning changes, Ie, hearts and crosses and things)
Really, It's also gawdy looking as all hell.
Now this is my opinion.
RED VS. BLUE

Blue. Blue all the way. Dark blue, or navy. Doesn't matter which shade.

Meow makes a very good point. The company color IS blue, and security is a very important factor in the company's success.
Another good thing about a color change: It would require pretty much no re-spriting. All you have to do is take the suits that are already in, and then shift them to whatever shade of blue is best.

The reason the Security uniforms are red is a nod to Star Trek redshirts. SS13 is basically a nod to everything. The Navy uniforms are blue but never used.

I dunno. I feel that blue demands respect, and looks very formal/composed. Could you imagine any police force in the world wearing red? Naw.
The syndicate can keep their red, but sec officers honestly should be blue-clad. It just makes more sense.

Most if not all police departments don't use blue. It's more of a tan/sandy color, just saying if we want to make them look like a police force...

Funny thing is... police where I am are in black, white and florescent green... But yeah, blue with black equipment vests would look cool.

It depends on the state/county/city. I've seen more State Troopers use grayish colors. The Sheriff Departments are the ones who use tan. From this site, for ref: www.policeone.com/police-products/apparel/undergear/articles/99417-The-psychological-influence-of-the-police-uniform/{Spoiler}The majority of police uniforms in the United States today are produced in darker colors such as black, blue, brown, green, and grey. Just as with the style of the police uniform, the color of the police uniform has meaning. Psychological tests have found that people associate colors with specific moods. For example, red is generally associated with excitement and stimulation, thus explaining why it is often a color in flashing emergency vehicle lights. These tests have also found that the color blue is associated with feelings of security and comfort, and black is most often associated with power and strength. Studies of both high school and college students in the United States have found that students perceived light colors such as white and yellow as weak, but also good and active, The same students perceived dark colors such as black and brown as strong and passive, but also as bad. These results were not based on cultural influences because they did not vary with the race of the students.Take from that what you will.

What I'm taking from that is that security should have a calming presence, I.E. Blue. They shouldn't be walking around looking like they're about to fly off the handle and stuncuff you.

I don't think that the colors would change how people perceive Security, just because of the issues some players have when playing as/with Security.

The reason they go with grey and tan and dulcet tones, on a side note, is cause it's also more calming colours. And you'd be surprised how much of everything is affected by things like this.

Well if the uniforms are changed to blue, then captain uniform IMO would need a change to as I can easily identify him being the only one in blue. I think if we change sec to blue then cap needs to change to a more unique color as well. So for vote of laziness Red for security.

Mix of black/navy blue whilst the captain is still rather bright blue (to bright IMO but oh well)

I vote for sticking to Red. NanoTrasen strikes me as the kind of corp that keeps its employees in line with fear and therefore, red seems like the approprite choice.
