Hey guys, girls, ladies, gentlemen, and everything in between. I'm here to discuss with all of you a new idea I've had a for a player-run event. Player-run events [let's just call them PREs for short] are little events I like to set up and run sometimes, with minimal admin intervention. Usually, they come in the form of crew dances/mixers or fight clubs. However, this time, I was thinking of something a little more grand. A station wide wargame.
The whole idea is rather simple. Two teams, with bases at either end of the station. To win, one team must capture the other team's "flag" while still holding their own flag. Almost the entire station is thrown open to the crew, who must use teamwork, tenacity, and wit to overcome their opponents. I've discussed the event with some of the staff members, and here's how it's expected to go.
THE TEAMS
The Red Team: Their base is in escape, at the far Eastern edge of the station. They are led by the HoS, if he/she is present. If the HoS is not present, they will be led by the next best thing.
The Blue Team: Their base is in arrivals, at the far Western edge of the station. They are led by the Captain, if he/she is present. If the Captain is not present, they will be led by the next best thing.
THE UNITS
The two teams are both made up of the same units: G.Is, Medics, Grenadiers, and Team Leaders.
G.Is are equipped with the following gear: 1 pair of jackboots, 1 security backpack, 1 laser tag gun, 1 laser tag vest, 1 team-colored jumpsuit, 1 station-bounced radio, 1 stunbaton, and 1 flashbang grenade.
Medics are equipped with the following gear: 1 pair of jackboots, 1 medical backpack, 1 laser tag gun, 1 laser tag vest, 1 team-colored jumpsuit, 1 station-bounced radio, and one stretcher.
Grenadiers are equipped with the following gear: 1 pair of jackboots, 1 engineering backpack, 1 laser tag gun, 1 laser tag vest, 1 team-colored jumpsuit, 1 station-bounced radio, 1 grenade launcher, 1 box of flashbangs, 1 box of smoke grenades, and two flashbang tripmines.
Team Leaders are equipped with the following gear: 1 pair of jackboots, 1 captain's backpack, 1 laser tag gun, 1 laser tag vest, 1 team colored jumpsuit, 1 station-bounced radio, and 1 stunbaton.
Teams are made up of G.Is, one medic, one grenadier and one Team Leader. All the units must work together to achieve victory.
THE RULES
Rule #1: If you are knocked over in any way, shape, or form- either by a flashbang, a laser to your vest, or a stun from a G.I's baton, you must remain on the ground and wait to be returned to your team's base. No exceptions. Once you are brought back to your base, you may resume fighting.
Rule #2: No harming or shooting "wounded" enemy combatants.
Rule #3: No harming or shooting noncombatants.
Rule #4: No harming or shooting the enemy team's ambulance [Odysseus]
Rule #5: No fistfighting, beatings, or any kind of harm outside of the Wargame parameters.
Rule #6: No cheating!
If you break any of these rules, you will be disqualified from the Wargames and teleported via bluespace technology to the 'safety room'. From here, you are allowed to watch the Wargames via the camera system, but you will not be allowed back in to the Wargames for the rest of the round.
ADDITIONAL INFO
With the Wargames comes a bit of "RP within RP". Lasers should be treated as live ammunition, and flashbangs should be treated as explosives. Theatrics are encouraged- such as shouting "GRENAAAADE!" whenever someone lobs a flash at you.
Ingenuity is encouraged and rewarded! Want to listen in on your enemy's radio channel? You can do so! Want to hide a flashbang landmine under a box? Go ahead! Beyond the rules, you are allowed to carry out the war however you [or your team leader] wants!
Both teams are supplied with an Oddyseus [Which is renamed to <Insert team color here> Ambulance.] This ambulance can not be used for offensive purposes, and is merely there to ferry wounded soldiers back to their base!
Thanks for reading! If you have any questions or critiques, post them here! (And don't move this to the event suggestion area. Chris said I could put this here )
