So, For the new players that will eventually be coming out of the Reinforced wall's, I suggest you keep moving those eyeballs down the screen and continue reading. This will be a simply guide to when and what crimes are feasible to not be a griefer.
Now, you may not know this, but this station and all others is a billion dollar space station. So, by this logic, you would not find billy chucklefuck making moonshine in science. As such, you will be expected to A) be professional, and B) not commit crime without reason. As well, your name, background and actions must be of some roleplayable viability (So Chucklefuck Cuntbags the stripper is not a thing you should be)
Obviously, crimes CAN be commited for certain reasons. The most obvious, as an antagonist, you can commit any crime IF it furthers obtaining the completion of a goal. However, there are limits (mostly). As a Traitor, Rev, Changeling, and so on, you are expected to try and be stealthy. Pretend to be a actual crew member, attempt contact with other antags, try and complete your objectives without anyone KNOWING your role. I will divulge into Antag roles in a moment, so don't worry your little assistant head.
The other reason to commit a crime, is for your own characters obvious actions. For example: If someone killed your best friend, would you kill that person? Maybe. The question is, have you already estabilished this person as INCREDIBLY important to you, to such extents to risk your life as a member of this high paying station to get revenge. More to the point, there are far more viable options. Have you thought of kidnapping them, maybe? Then cutting off their hands and feet and dragging them to security? Because you can do that. Well, probably. Once again, the crime must fit the role. You might be caught making drugs because your an addict, and a known one, but not because you just decided to make it this round. You might get into a bar fight because your so drunk you thought your own piss was liquor. But you can't, say, beat up a nurse because you feel like it.
Here's a checklist. Fill it out when you want to do crime.
Crime: (How Serious is it on a scale of 1 to 10)
Reason: (scale one to ten)
Should you: (Subtract it. if its a negative number, THEN DONT DO IT)
The exception are more violent antagonist roles, such as Nuke ops, Alien and Wizard. These classes CAN be used covertly, and can be unseen, but commonly you don't do such a thing, and attempt to cause hell and kill the entire crew. A suggestion for wizards, is to take a human name, and attempt to pretend to be a crew member, not wearing the wizardy item's your given. Just hope the AI is braindead, and you should be fine. Aliens might wish to build a nest out of eye, etc etc.
