So, Dilgan and I had another one of our many discussions, debates, arguments, legendary exchange of heartfelt dialogue in epic proportions worthy of a saga no age has ever seen, debates on which is 'better' - security, or engineering.
Needless to say, the two of us will never agree.
Each department merits greatness in its own unique way. And I wanna see what the community of Aurora thinks.
Personally, even as playing as Rose Watson, I will always state that engineering will always be, without fail, the best department. Engineers are just awesome, and that cannot be denied. It's a fact.

Engineering gets the station going and keeps it operating. Security keeps the peace...I would rather have a well lit chaotic strewn station than a dark no equipment safe station.

Let me simplify this for you.Security is useful because they "keep the peace" and have guns, but when it is the 80% of the time when there is no AI Security has to call an Engineer to open a door the baddie is hiding behind, and if there is no engie; then the security team is SoL. Not to mention stuck in the dark.Engineering is most useful because they give us power and keep science in one piece, but if shit goes down and there is no security; a competent engineer is not SoL, he is merly delayed the 1-2minutes it takes him to break into Security and barrow the required equipment.Conclusion: ENGINEERING IS BETTER!!!

Most engineers have criminal tendencies. They often break and enter, hack, make contraband, and generally flout the law. Security is around to keep them in check- without security, engineers would always be a nuisance.

IAA are great...

People best at keeping the peace in order
1. Medbay
2. Engineering
3. Security
Engineering beat security because (Under the right leadership) they can cripple the station if people fuck about too much.
