Byond Name (key): Balegrim
What do you like to be called?: Balegrim
Gender? (If you feel uncomfortable about putting your Gender for any reason, feel free to leave this out.):
All male and sex appeal! Whoo!
Past experience?: Very slight with c-code and html, nothing to write home about. I've also been coding my own knick-knacks with BYOND for awhile, and have learned some neat tricks, often times at a price. : p
Other Languages Known: Precious little to nothing of C.
How long have you been coding?: Tinkering with Byond things? Probably a half year. No major projects. My strengths are actually item balance and implementing new outfits.
Do you consider yourself a relatively competent coder?: No. I know the expected answer is yes, but I can probably do as much as a lot of the people who say yes do. I'm treating this application very objectively.
If you have never coded (in DreamMaker) before, are you willing to learn?: I'm always willing to learn new things. But I work a lot, so I'm not as heavily invested as some people might be. But still probably more active than a lot of the people who jot down yes.
Do you have Skype/Steam? (Not necessarily important, just to straighten out any communication issues we may have): I do, and will give it upon request.
Extra notes:Like I said. My passion is coding items and coming up with unique ways to make them relevant to the universe. Each item and article of clothing should portray some kind of story through it's use, appearance, and function. Items and sprites and gameplay are what make SS13 different from a forum or chat based RP. I understand the combat mechanics of SS13 better than most, as it's all I've literally ever focused on as a player. So I can be counted on to make practical, balanced items congruent with their role. Or even improve the ones that spawn in certain lockers. . . LX_Pacifier, anyone? Seriously, a self charging taser should be included in the HoS and Warden's locker. It'd just be so much cooler and give the jobs some real uniqueness!. Not a hard item, but i have it ready to go.
At any rate, this is what I do, I play nice with others, and will always seek approval before making changes. If you want me on your team, let me know. I work promptly, and implement often. I'm also very aware of what I can play with where items are concerned without busting the server. I've had my own for some time.
