(I'm not allowed to do something, so Stalker is now 'faceless generic background story here') Enjoy that background? I sure did.

Earth is a lot worse than you think it is. It's literally an uninhabitable ball of nuclear waste. Please, read the official lore. Also, backstories need to be a lot longer than that.

.I'm using Baystation 12 lore...Which is.EarthPlanetary Capital - N/A. The ancestral home of the Human race, Earth has become a large poisonous ball of pollution and industrialism. Long, brutal wars have scarred it's surface and overpopulation has caused irreversible effects in the planet's atmosphere. Earth may have long since lost it's former splendor, but it remains a bustling hub of lower class humanity as borders and governments fall and restructure. >Bustling hub of lower class humanityMeaning, as I interpret it, a shit ton of the poor live there. And I'm not done with my backstory, creating it through in character meetings and such so I don't feel as if I pull all of this out of my ass.If that lore isn't acceptable, link me to some that is.I just read the other one too, on the forums. After years of war, advancements of technology, and stupidity, pollution finally rendered Earth uninhabitable by humans, who had claimed the world since the beginning of intelligence there. The planet remains largely abandoned, and though charity organisations exist to attempt a reclamation of sections of humanity’s cradle, they remain underfunded and obscure.>Largely abandonedIts still possible for people to live on Earth, its just a terrible idea.Or that's what I am getting from this.

Well, in Aurora lore, as RUSTY said, Earth is dead, very dead. There was a third world war in 2157 and it was rendered uninhabitable. The closest equivalents now are Biesel or Mars

Because it is literally absent of life, there is nothing living there, no Detroit either. The entire planet is nuclear ash

Why the fuck is it said as >Largely< ThenWhy not just put "HEY, EARTH IS FUCKING HIT"Even then, it could be possible to build a base on Earth. Considering we have radiation suits, futureistic fucking robots, and the magical power of plasma. That and I didn't say I lived in Detroit, I compared earth to Detroit No one on this site understands sarcasm or what a joke is.

Well, yes, there are sections of earth that are being tested for reclamation, but that is by small teams, not entire communities

Space was uninhabitable by humans. Turns out we can change a huge area that normally cant be sustained for life, and do that rather easily.

The Lore states that Earth is uninhabitable, that is that. The effort needed to reclaim what is essentially a barren planet is incredibly high. Cleaning a planet's ecosystem to a habitable state, considering nuclear fallout as well as a screwed up atmosphere is alot harder than building a space station.

Turns out we can change a huge area that normally cant be sustained for life, and do that rather easily There is a difference between colonizing planets and the entirety of space. But as Gollee said, earth is abandoned, the last major faction to vacate the area left several hundred years before the current date. In short, earth is a dead ball. that is not to say you cannot make your own planet or faction. If you do though a few ground rules. 1)No space America - That is to say be original. 2)No galaxy spanning super empires or death stars - Small empires spanning a system are fine, but no massively powerful empires that span any more than two systems and have the potential to control the galaxy are a no no 3)Don't be a marry sue - I.e try to be realistic and have a balanced faction. so no super tech or utopias, distopias are fine though. I would still recommend using another faction from our lore until such a time until you are familiar with it.
