I have an idea for a new job. This job would be something imbetween a Engineer and security officer. a Technical person who has a hack tool and can hack doors when someone has locked themselves in. or can push a drone into the vent and pop out the other side to see what is in there and see what security is going into. Thus saving lives.

Doesn't really seem like a fair job. The AI/Engineers/people with access already do a good enough job of getting people out of places, and there's a reason there's Security camera consoles everywhere. It just sounds like a Detective that can hack to me.

I agree with Chaz. This sounds fun, but it also seems a bit too specialized. If you were in game and went to the HoP as an engineer and just asked for basic sec access and a custom job title, you'd be able to accomplish the same thing.

A hack tool all of its own? That's seems more grief-enabling than just having an engineer do it, which they should already be able to. I don't know how many times atmos has gone awry and I've had to, as a station engineer (or fill-in for such), bolt open doors, which requires a little less knowledge than opening bolted doors.
For the drone, I think that should be something. A construct like Beepsky or the BucketBot and MediRover - or better yet - like a M.U.L.E. You can direct it to a location to then dispatch itself via the vents. As already said, this really only helps when there isn't a coordinated AI/security force though. Maybe it can be something for traitors?
