My idea for this event was simple. Though this may require custom coding for the server and sprites. All right, the event itself would start in either Virology or the Research Outpost. A warning message would be broadcasted throughout the station, warning the crew of a biohazard set loose.
However, it is a completely alien and unknown virus. After about five to ten minutes after the warning, there is a distress signal coming from the research outpost. When help arrives, it could be player and or admin controlled, they find a dark and gloomy outpost, with blood marks on the ground, the walls, everywhere.
Windows are smashed, and all that. If any researchers were actually on the outpost (players) they will have to fend off whatever is lurking in the shadows. Before all this, three volunteers will be picked to be the zombies. They will have the model of a human who has either died in space, or been absorbed by a changeling. These zombies would be slow, but highly resistant to damage.
The head would have to be destroyed for it to die. These zombies could slash (harm intent) or grab and bite (grab intent) by the same method changelings use to absorb their victims. Those bitten would fall to the ground, bleeding out and gasping. If saved by another crew member before changing, they can be healed and given spaceacilin; however this would only halt the spreading of the virus, and not cure the infected. When they die, they would slowly regenerate like a changeling, and then rise from the dead. And the only way to stop the plague would be to detonate the research outpost, before it spreads to the main station/mining outpost.
How does this event sound? What needs to be done for it to be implemented? Could this work?
TL;DR Zombies: Model = Absorbed Victim Model, How to spread/attack = harm intent/grab intent (they can bite people in the same way changelings absorb people), Once Bitten = Will fall to the ground, bleeding out and gasping at a rapid rate and die, and then they will slowly regenerate and rise from the dead like a changeling, Zombies = Highly Contagious, Starting Spot = Research Outpost.
I know a lot of people who would like a zombie event and would help make it work, so I've stepped up to help pitch up ideas that could be done within the limits of Baystation code. Any feedback, ideas, or questions? Shoot!
