I've never tried some real roleplaying games on a forum before. Is anyone else interested in playing one?
Basically, you'd send in your character sheets to me, and as turns progress you'd post the actions you want to take and I'd handle the dice rolling and DMing and stuff.
Any takers?

Hells Yeah! I play games like Rogue Trader and Warhammer on wednesdays. I'd love to joins. Seems interesting but I think that Skype and Roll20 would be more appropriate for that kind of thing.

Never played either of them, but I'd love to see something like Shadowrun, Dark Heresy, Adeptus Evangelion (a DH mod), Only Way and so on. But yeah, I agree with max on using other sources, but we could use the forums to keep track of what has happened, say someone types up what has happened when we use the other sources.

I'll play anything really (except Adaptus Evangelion)but if you are looking for suggestions, I like the look of the Dragon Age roleplay thats out. Wil Wheaton did a bit of a game on it if you feel like watching something hilarious:

Forum Pathfinder isn't too bad... I've done it once, though school got in the way and most of the people quit...

These are all great ideas. I've never really delved too deep into this sort of thing and I figured it's about time I tried to start up some real dungeon grindey RP in this sub. Once we get more takers and a few more votes I'll get started on the specifics.

Tuiee, the most important thing is: What do YOU want to do? Its always up to the GM and I will play almost anything. If you like Warhammer 40K, I suggest Dark Heresy because no one is ever OP in it (apart from Grey Knights)

Max, you know what'll happen if someone plays as a grey knight, we'll just push em down a 2 foot step and it'll kill em

Or tell them that the Daemons went into that suspicious looking port... door.

I have never played P&P in my life. But Cyberpunk 2020 sounds kick-ass, if anyone would be willing to baby me along.

I've never played it before either. My experience is in Warhammer, 40K and a bit of d6 stuff like a song of ice and fire. All fantasy flight 40K stuff is similar if you feel like trying that. Things like Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader and Deathwatch all use the same d100% system.

Eragong plays Grey Knights, and trust me when I say this. THEY NEVER WIN. Sure they have some powerful things, like Nemesis Force Weapons, but their ranged capability is essentially nothing, they can't have stormshields, bikes, drop pods etc. They hace to run at you, and they just don't have the survivability.

That's useful to know. Grey Knights aren't known for their life preservation

From what I have seen recently, it is Necrons that are the most powerful now, with the right deployment they can take on any army on an even playing field, or even in their favour. Scarabs rip up nearly all infantry and tanks, Wraiths are amazing elite killers, Lords with scythes and mindshackle completely negate HQs and terminators. And I can also just field an army of flyers.

To save Aurora from the ungodly amount of spam posts this would bring, I suggest using Roll20 and Skype, then documenting our adventures here. As a story.

Ill happily take part in this, although I've never played something like this before I have always wanted to. All I ask is that depending on what is played someone makes a compendium of basic stuff so I know what Im doing.
