So, clearly we need to set things in stone. I'm presuming most people are aware that I have made a whitelist for a laser weapon (more in a moment) for my main character, Nikolai Petirosky, who plays nothing but HOS. That's it.
Currently, voltage hero has made a whitelist for a armored hard suit, and has met HEAVY resistance. The reasoning, I wager, is a armored hardsuit for a friggin HOS/security character is OP, and yet still worthless to security, as hardsuits slows the wearer down (which any security officer worth their baton knows that is not helpful at all). Now, granted, it's just a hardsuit. He DOES have access to one at any time. But this isn't a item a HOS uses regularly, or even at all. This is a item for apprehending people inside low pressure environments. You use it maybe once every ten secret rounds.
Now, for fairness, my item IS a gun. It kills people. My entire reasoning is that as a HOS who never doesn't play HOS (with this character) I have and use my laser rifle (which all HOS carry) almost every round. I am not asking for this out of this job, I have stated before I will have it removed if I am not HOS, I simply want a gun based on roleplay (Nikolai has been a HOS aboard three stations, a captain aboard his own vessel, etc) and would stand to reason he'd own a weapon.
Obviously, people are going to claim 'if Nikolai gets a gun why can't I get _____' but is it really a claim with value? I am asking for a Reskin of a weapon I would have either way, this doesn't make me more or less dangerous. Voltages hardsuit, (while neat, and a cool idea) would change gameplay. He would have an advantage with having a hardsuit, and having armour. This is (or at least what I think) counts as unfair.
Now, I will be the first to admit. I am wrong usually. A lot. Most of the time. 99% even. But this seems logical. Thus, I think the item whitelist needs a note stating 'if this item is specific to a job, you may not use this character for ANY other job, and if a weapon, you may not be a traitor, rev or cultist'
Once again, maybe I'm a giant idiot. But I wager a custom item should not benefit you in any way. The necklace thing that's a battery, for example, really not beneficial. You can get a power cell anywhere (just stun a assistant, they tend to grab them 4noraisin). Essentially, if this item is either decorative or easy access, it's not an issue. If it's job specific, I hope you enjoy that job, because a CMO with a Gatling laser Is not logical.
Once again, I MIGHT BE A GIANT IDIOT. But because we will have more people asking for god knows what, either custom items are canclled, we have the rule stated above placed into affect (or a variation of it) or this will keep happening. So, WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK.
Also, I will give up my gun or have it nerfed to be less powerful then a regular laser gun (even though the model tool showed me made my pants leak white fluid) if it means I don't hear BUT NIK GOT A GUNNNNNNNNN!
