Now I'm starting to see these assholes that barely do their jobs, if not at all. Or people doing random shit for no reason, like dragging a bleeding body from Genetics all the way to Escape and spacing it. And if you are one of these people, that came along the server's rise in popularity, I don't like you. I don't mind the "greaser" RP that some people seem to like from them, or any other group you want to create with your friends, but I hate the fact that all these kind of players do is drawing shit on the floor, or sabotaging the station by any means available to their jobs. This is somewhat of a rant, but Am I the only one that feels this way?

One thing to also keep in mind is it is Summer, everyone is off and has time to kill. Once routine comes back like school/college/etc, it will start to become quieter. I'm also in the same mindset as you Kento, but what skull said is right. The only thing ranting does is make you fell better but not make any changes.

I for one have nothing against greaser RP. Considering how silly some of our events are (and come on, we have wizard and now vampire rounds), that's still better than 90% of the chucklefucking being done here, and perfectly fine as long as it doesn't happen every single round. Now, for people acting up and doing dumb stuff. I feel like that's not exactly tied to the server pop. We'll get dumbs no matter what. Yes, we'll get more dumbs if we get more people. Along with it, we'll get more good players, and more staff too. So I don't really see a correlation between the size of the playerbase and bad RP running rampant. Containing these has never been an issue. We might get more visitors by being popular, but we /should/ be able to deal with them, as long as they're properly reported, by the rest of the server pop. Also, I don't mind the "greaser" RP that some people seem to like from them, or any other group you want to create with your friends, but I hate the fact that all these kind of players do is drawing shit on the floor, or sabotaging the station by any means available to their jobs. I feel like this is one of the healthiest forms of mild-antagging? When done with proper RP like it was there.

The greasers? I actually think they provide a healthy bit of crime RP: sometimes, they might be selling drugs or mugging people. Fun, low-level stuff that adds to the round.
As for people spacing people and other dumb shit like that, that'll always happen, regardless of how many people we get. To be fair, the server's been relatively tame for how many people we've had on.

Station Snakes RULE!
We're the Station Snakes! That's us, and we RULE!
Fun fact, I ran a short-lived gang of greasers on Apollo called the Station Snakes. Laser shut them down because he hated fun.

Already way ahead of you, Keinto. Since the APollo shutdown and the summer days, approximately a week ago, I had noticed our population spiking. As such, I decided this week to create a log of player highs and lows, and at the end of the week, if the trend sticks or rises more, we'll be adressing the issue at face value.
It will be dealt with.

It happens every year. It's a cycle that you could probably chart. In a month or two, we will drop pretty heavily.
And just admin help these gits. I do. And like half the time someone listens before they attempt to hatchet me or being screaming about how they are a mighty knight.

Me and Soundscopes just dealt with five griefers.. I have nothing against some well rp'd criminal RP, just griefers that try and blow up the station, kill security and leak N20 everywhere

The greasers? I actually think they provide a healthy bit of crime RP: sometimes, they might be selling drugs or mugging people. Fun, low-level stuff that adds to the round. Please no. As a career security player I can tell you flat out that this stuff doesn't 'add to the round'. Maybe to you because you can buy drugs but when I'm already dealing with everyone screaming about 'dem dirty redshirts' over the radio + murderers/changelings/nukeops/people blowing shit up, it is only an incredible annoyance and in fact makes my experience all the worse because I have to take time out of trying to juggle fifty things at once to sit down Mister I'm Not An Antag But Here I Am Doing Antag Things in a cell and/or shoot him in the kneecap. Baystation always had a basic 'no antagonistic actions as a non-antag' rule down to even stealing headsets. I was under the impression, as this is also a heavy roleplay server, this rule was the same; why would it not be? Do you seriously think NanoTrasen would hire individuals with a shady criminal past, prone to dealing drugs or selling station property - the company's own money - and put them on their most prestigious research station? Or is the lore that NanoTrasen is just cartoon levels of laughably incompetent? I can't support 'mild antagging' or 'soft antagging' because we're always the ones on the short end of the stick, trying to deal with the actual antagonists and then Greaser McOneThousandYearsAgo dealing drugs just shoves even more shit onto our plate. Contrary to popular belief, I don't want to have to deal with more criminals than I have to. Even during extended rounds, which are rarely the most peaceful rounds I get in security, I would rather sit and roleplay than have to do a drug bust because I'm already doing that every other round.

I remember when I use to do security mained. Glad I don't anymore.
We do need criminal characters, I agree, spies and thieves, but I also agree we don't need random tossers selling drugs and starting bar fights.
There's a very large and bright line on the ground between criminal activity and bad RP, and It shouldn't be hard to discern the difference.

People dont want to arrest criminals in a game where they are supposed to be doing their job? Small gang work isnt self antagonising because simply put, they are not antagonists. If doing a job distrupts your "srs rp", stop doing security, or go on an irc.

What's wrong with being an elitist asswad? At least I won't be one of those filthy plebeians, wallowing in filth and poverty.
