Character name: Ana Issek
Character age: 29
Backstory:
Prior to being instated upon the Aurora's security team Ana served for an extended period of time on a mining colony aboard a deserted rock world called Omicron Eight. They were not as well equipped as more modern NanoTrasen facilities and relied on a lot of older technology as well as federal support for the habitations. While working as a member of colonial security, Ana met her then-husband Naris and the two worked through a slew of cases before he was ultimately killed in the line of duty.
Ana has become much more harsh since then and has a strong sense of justice. Her uniform is no longer the standard but she wears it anyway; her previous rank is embroidered on the shoulder and it is both a symbol of seniority and one of competence. She also prefers the metal badge she was issued instead of the new, cheap plastic holobadges because it is also a marker of her veteran status serving with NanoTrasen.
Item name: Retired Uniform, Faded Badge
Reason for item requested:
You'll notice I left out parts describing the item in question, and this is for good reason. My custom item is, as far as I am aware, still within your codebase because you have branched off of Baystation.
obj/item/fluff/ana_issek_2
obj/item/clothing/under/fluff/ana_issek_1
They would technically require no coding or implemenation as they already exist with precoded functionality. The badge is basically the same as a holobadge and the uniform is just a piece of clothing.

Backstory:
{Spoiler}It was looking to be another normal morning on Omicron eight. The two suns appearing on the horizon, casting a deep orange glow across the mining facility stationed there, playing with the shadows in the quarry, causing it to seem much deeper than it actually was. The way the light reflected off of the low-hanging smog in the air, making visual conditions unsatisfactory. The hustle and bustle of the miners as they made their way from their dormitories to the digging site to gather materials and plasma for research, and the soft thudding of exosuit feet on the dry, cracked earth. Yes, indeed, it was looking to be just another normal day on the small, rocky planet, complete with the wail of sirens and an eighth missing person.
This was starting to become a startlingly usual routine for the colony's small security force. Over the past few weeks, almost like clockwork, blood would be found somewhere and DNA testing would confirm that the owner had not shown up for work for quite some time. Never any bodies, never any leads, just some blood and nowhere to go with it. So when dispatch received a call about another pool of the red stuff, along with signs of a struggle that one, fateful morning, Ana was prepared to meet yet another dead end.
She was sitting at her desk with a tired look in her eyes and a half-cold cup of coffee when the call came in. This is what she did every morning. She sat in that small, cramped office and poured over the case files in an attempt to find some kind of link, any kind of link. It was always the same. A young, prestigious scientist or a miner that loved to work hard would disappear, and sometimes a missing persons report would be filed. Suit sensors were always disabled, and there was no way of knowing whether they were alive or dead. Whoever was doing this was knowledgeable, and it was making her look like a fool.
A small frown played across her features as her grip on the handle of her mug tightened. It would figure that she would get stuck on a barren rock world with a clever serial killer, and make no headway in the case at all. The suits up at the orbiting station were breathing down her neck and there was already talk of having her swapped out with someone else since she seemed so incapable of finding one man amongst three hundred. If it even was one man. Not many things made her upset, but this was different. After eight disappearances, and enough face-to-face discussions with teary-eyed family members to make it seem like she was in a crime drama, she had no intention of letting this sick killer get away. One day, he would mess up, and she would be there to catch him and tighten the noose around his neck.
She was deep in her thoughts when a familiar voice roused her from her pensiveness.
"Ana?"
Looking up from all the messy photos and paperwork strewn about her desk, she was met with the sight of a handsome, strapping young lad clad in a security uniform. She felt her fatigue and anger begin to ebb away as a gentle smile came to her features. It was Naris. His presence always calmed her, and she was glad to have him around. Of course, when she noticed that look on his face, she knew that something bad had happened.
"...Narrris. Has... something..."
Before she had a chance to finish, the older Tajaran nodded his head. It was rare for her to catch him without a smile on his face, so when he had appeared in her doorway with that solemn aura about him, she knew it was going to be a long day. All at once, those tiresome feelings came rushing back to her and she let out a quiet sigh, slumping back over her desk.
"...What is it now?"
Naris pursed his lips and leaned against the wooden doorframe that led into his office. He slipped his hands into his pants pockets and remained quiet for a short while before sighing himself.
"There has been another... disappearance. Another scene, near the quarry. The commissioner wants you there five minutes ago. Come. We will take the wheel-machine."
Her ears perked up when he had said that, and her expression had fallen significantly. Another scene? So soon after the last one? This guy was starting to get on her nerves. Either he was becoming more confident in his work, or becoming more desperate. Whatever the case, she would scour every inch of that crime scene to find the smallest fiber if she had to. Nodding slowly, she rose to her feet and gave a groan as she stretched, glancing down at the papers on her desk one last time.
She didn't want to believe they were dead. She wanted to save all of them. But once you spend enough time in forensics you start to learn that even the best investigator can't save everyone. All you can do is bring justice to their families. Turning her head away from all the messy case files, she retrieved her light labcoat and satchel from the coat rack and circled around to the front of her desk, digging through the leather bag to ensure all her equipment was in there. As she did this, Naris spoke up again.
"You cannot keep doing this to yourself, Ana."
That slightly reprimanding tone in his voice was unusual for him. Pausing in her search, she looked up to meet his gaze only to be met with a furrowed brow and a displeased look. Ana tilted her head in confusion and opened her mouth to respond, but her husband just sighed.
"Every night, you are sitting here and looking at papers, and sleeping on desk. You are never coming home anymore. He is missing you, and he does not want to watch you tear self up."
A lot of people had said something like this to her, but she never expected Naris to be one of them. All of her friends in the colony had been saying that they missed going out with her and wished she would spend less of her time searching through case files, but they were miners and scientists. They didn't know how important it was to stop this man from getting away with all he'd done. If she didn't stop him, he would keep going, keep getting more brave until the situation would turn even deadlier. Naris was a security officer, and she had expected him to get it, but hearing those words from him made a sharp pain flare up in her heart.
"Narrrris... is... is serrrious...?! Is job to prrrotect! If she must... if she must stay herrre all day and searrrrch, she will...! He will... he will just keep... abducting if... if she does not stop him...!"
The older Tajaran narrowed his eyes and then just scoffed, shifting his gaze to the dirty wooden floor.
"...So is saying finding killer is more important than marriage?"
Ana was just reeling from all of this and took a step back, putting a hand to her chest with both a genuinely shocked and offended tone to her voice.
"Narrris...! Is listening to self...?! Of courrrse not! She is loving you, and... she... misses as well... But is crrrazy man rrrunning wild, and is hurrrting people... Is must stop him!"
Her husband just folded his ears back and kept staring a hole into the floor. She had never seen him like this before! Yes, she had rarely been home in the past two months when the abudctions had started, and yes, they never saw each other out of work, but was he really feeling this neglected? Surely he understood how important it was to catch this guy. Ana took another step back, prepared for him to shout at her some more, but instead of another barrage of hot words she found two strong arms wrapped about her waist and a head settling on her shoulder.
"...Is sorry, Ana. He is not meaning to shout, he... he is just... he is tired of spending nights at home alone. He is tired of being alone when is off work and you are staying here. He is just... missing you."
The smaller female slumped in his embrace and let out a quiet sigh, returning the hug half-heartedly. Maybe he was feeling that neglected. Slowly, she began to pat his back, an unreadable expression on her face. Was she really going to let all of this get between the two of them? The line between leisure and duty was a line she had never really known how to balance properly.
"Narrris... shhh, shhh... it is okay. She... is sorrrry as well... maybe is was just... so caught up in worrrk... is forrrgetting about you... She... she just... does not want bad man to... to... hurrrt anyone else. We... w-we will still have each otherrr, but... loverrrs of t-taken... will neverrr have them again."
That had struck a chord with the man. He had never really thought of it that way before. Gently, he pulled back to look down into those brilliant green eyes of hers and nodded, clearly looking remorseful about his outburt. Ana rose a hand to his cheek and began to thumb through his fur, offering him a small smile.
"...She... does not blame, Narrris. Has spent all time trrrying... to be therrre forrr dead... has forrrgotten to... to be therrre forrr you. Will change that tonight, she prrromises... She loves you."
Leaning forward, she pressed her lips to her lover's and imparted upon him a soft and tender kiss. Clearly, he had missed sharing such things with her, and tightend his grip on her waist as he leaned into their intimate embrace. He could feel the heat from the blush on her cheeks, and that only made him that much happier. It was the little things about her that he loved, the little things just like that. Finally, when the two pulled apart, that familiar smile had returned to his face. Looking down at her with that vulnerable, innocent expression on her face and the redness easily visible beneath her white fur, he was unable to not smile.
"He loves you as well, Ana. But... but come, has held up too long. Is needing to get to crime scene."
