Hello everyone, and thank you for stopping by! I'd like to propose to you an idea that I've had sitting in my head for a while now. It's going to be a rather singular independant project to get me started on a dream maker coding quest that I will use for good in the server's benefit.
I was thinking of ideas for a starting project for me, and I thought, "Hey, I've had an idea for a unified enemy for the current species, so why not put it in game?"
Essentially, the idea is that I'll be adding an enemy for the crew to talk and gawk about, that has overall public knowledge and a few events circulated around it. With the Syndicate as it currently is, to protect the gameplay, completely classified, the crew and all the races in general have no enemy or force to call evil. As of right now, apart from a psuedo-cold war with the Marx, its all sunsine and lollipops for the universe.
I feel as though we're going for a grimdark feel with the setting of the universe, and having an enemy/constant war where your possible friends have died, or you are transferring off the station to fight (If you need an ending for a character) would be the peice we're looking for.
Regardless of wether they are added into the lore or not, I will be coding them in as a project for myself to learn the code. Some features, without spoiling the whole species, are as follows:
They will be synthetic.
They will be powerful, technology and numbers-wise.
They will be seen in-game from time to time.
They will have custom weaponry and clothing, possibly a mech or two.
They will highly, highly, HIGHLY detailed. And I mean detailed. I plan to pour a hell of a lot of hours into this.
They will have their own network, similar to the Correspondance forums or the Syndicate forums, as to grant you the ability to make your own character.
They will NOT be playable on standard rounds.
So far, that's all I can think of. I'll post little updated on this thread of how the project is going and all that.
So, drop your votes on the polls, is this a good idea or not?
