Rules: You may only post one, and only one game, that you feel is a game that has fallen through the cracks as a genius piece of gaming. It obviously cannot be something as popular as strawberry filled condoms ( ) I'll start, Dark Cloud 2, I am absolutely in love with that entire game. You can turn into all the monsters, ride a ghetto ass mech that gets it's own voice if you choose, you have two characters who are both well written, you can spend hours building in the Geo area's, a crafting system that makes Minecraft look like Adventures in Sexy Space, and a fishing mini-game that I swear to god I spent thirty hours alone playing, trying to catch fish for Finny Frenzy. Spending hours just taking pictures of shit, before realizing you left a area you can't return to that had THAT ONE GOD DAMN EGG, that would let you make the Nova Cannon 3, but discovering how to make something even better and going nuts. MMF.

For me? My favorite "unknown" childhood game was...
Radiata Stories for the PS2.
It was a mix of RPG systems and real time combat. The world had this beautiful feel, the art style was cartoony ( but in a cool way), the story was epic, just mmfff. MMMMMF. I loved it so goddamn much as a kid, especially because at that time (about when I was 7 or 8), most games still had that feeling of true exploratory wonder.
Oh, yeah, and there were 300 distinct characters and 175 recruitable NPCs, all with their own written stories. It was awesome.

Dragon's Dogma, by a long shot. There is nothing more satisfying than leaping onto an Ogre, climbing up it's legs whilst hacking away, leaping on top of it's head and stabbing it's eye out, whilst your party members are also firing lightning bolts at it, and also climbing onto it to rip it apart. All this without quick-time events. Also, the final boss being fuckhuge, and being able to climb it too.

The final boss is a duel with the last arisen and his pawn. It would be your last pawn, if you had beaten the game prior. Your thinking of like the second final boss.
