Welp. Its happened. After many many years of faithful service and loyalty and fun times... Majestic's golden oldie lappytop has probably seen it's last start up.
The harddrive just recently decided to get fuckerd. "Click of death" apparently (It clicks. Not supposed to do that).
Whether this problem can be fixed- I don't know. But the fact remains I won't be able to use this computer until the harddrive is fixed or I replace it. Because Laptop - hardrive = useless. And Majestic - only laptop = useless (in terms of aurora).
But this is just the bad news for me (I am so very sad. Years and years of work was on that thing... Not to mention game progress and stuff), the reason I am posting this is because (obviously) I won't be able to create or submit sprites for Aurora... Or play SS13 for that matter.
Some of you will count this as good news, others not. Point is Majestic is going to be gone for a while. I will still pop onto forums every now and again with this handy dandy smart mobile telecommunications device to check up on if pump has died yet (I paid good money for that assassin).

Best if luck to you, Mejsetic. I'd offer to help get you a new computer but I'm poor and I don't know what country you even live in.

Majestic, there is actually a way to keep your computer functional without any hard drives.
What you do, is this: Take a USB stick/flash memory card, Take a Linux based OS, a free one, Put it into said USB device, Make the device bootable, Start running your computer off of that USB device.
As simple. As that. I'm sure there are guides for it on the intrawebs.
The only issues you may have would be with retaining data (installing programs), as the bootable nature of the stick would erase anything that isn't the OS on it (potential solution: keep the PC running).

Another potential solution is to use 2 usb sticks, one for memory and the other for the OS

Guys, at most it could be that the needle that reads the disk is missaligned. This is fixable- Only problem is special equipment is needed to open the HDD without totally screwing it. Not only is it (VERY) hard to find someone with this equipment and training where I live... But it would cost some serious bucks.
At the moment the main concern of mine is the data lost... Photos, notes, documents, pictures (all my drawings and sprites... Dayum) and mah games (Because I don't want to pirate everything all over again!) plus their saves. So right now I'm seeing if I can strike something up with a guy I know who is really connected and such.
