Now, it's simple...We kill the Batman.
The event is simple, sweet, and easy to not fuck up.
Pick a person from each wing, preferably a people who will role play. Each person gains a signaler, which will detonate bombs in another wing, which one will be unknown to the person. Lock down the entire station, and inform the crew that if anyone tries to leave, their own wing explodes.
Tell them, that if in one hour, someone doesn't trigger it, EVERYONE dies.
In order to move all non-SSD who aren't in their place of work, inform them that they will return within two minutes, or find the bombs going off. For the civilian jobs, have them move to the bar.
A lot of death, but it would be INTERESTING, NOW WOULDN'T IT.

So basically, booms everywhere and atmos lags.. Unless more explanation or detailing can be given, I don't see this working out. Aside from blowing up someone else, what is actually meant to happen?

An event doesn't need to be complicated. Make people question if they will damn another to save themselves. That's sorta the point. an event can have death, you know. If we always try to squirrel around it, shit gets boring.

I agree.
And this does sound cool! But, knowing the ACTION HEROES (read: Eeegh badly written characters) that comprise most of the crew, they'll probably refuse to blow ANYONE up and will instead look for the bomb(s). Then they'll defuse them and save the day because fuck logic.
So, how do we remedy that?

Obviously, the bombs would have their sprites changed to a blank one, of course, and hidden in a locker. I'd love to see someone try and figure out how to diffuse an invisible bomb.

Or you could threaten the crew with the idea that if they attempt to look for the bomb, rather than having to face the ethical conundrum that they have stumbled upon, both bombs engage (but, won't actually, but the crew doesn't know that).

Or you could have Batman come aboard and save the day. After all, he can breathe in space.

Um, I don't think I get it. So, the departments blow each other up until... they're all dead, or what?

The point is moral condumdrums. WAS RUSTY THE ONLY PERSON THAT WATCHED THE DARK KNIGHT.
Cause it's actually pretty decent.
Anyway, the point is that either you save yourself, by dooming another group, or die with them, or even get blown up first. As in, it's a way to make people actually work and think on their own characters moral compasses.

I know what you are suggesting... but I can only see it going bad in the manner that 'most people don't give a toss about others lives!' I really suspect that there will be over half of the departments playing along, struggling to make the choice... but it would not matter, as it only takes on of the departments to have someone to go "hue, nope." Then push the button within the first five minutes...

Yeah, that's also my fear. I suggested it with the knowing monkey on my back that some asshole would bumrush the button.
