I was thinking about this, and realized two things : Biting is a common action when your fucked, and that human mouths are fucking septic.
Like seriously. Worst then most species on this planet. SOOOO.
why not a bite action? It could do a small amount of damage, but cause a slowly rising amount of toxic damage. For humans, at least. Theoretically, Tajaran, if having similar systems to the average cat, would have a far cleaner mouth, but instead has fangs. So, a increased damage, maybes.
The Unathi would have a similar thing to Tajaran, and The skrell would have...probably nothing, I dont even think they have teeth.
Either way, it'd be a nice final struggle attack.
Also, humans are fucking filthy, yo.

I'm for this, biting is the last ditch thing people fall to when fighting for their lives, it doesn't do much actual damage, but as you say, it's dirty as fuck in there. An alternative to toxic damage would be a disease or virus of some kind, if the wound isn't cleaned. (Tajaran rabies anyone?) Oh, and new traitor item. Steel. Fucking. Jaws.

Incase you didnt know. The human jaws are way stronger then the dogs or other animals jaws. But the problem is, if we make that strong energy bite, out theeth would just break from their sockets and it would end up badly. But since dogs cannot produce that amount of energy with their jaws, makes them more better bitting nonstop with nothing to worry about and that is why they are used in police departments beacuse their theets wont break.
As for the toxins damage..That sounds abit dull.. I would understand a zombie or some one infected with something or just doesnt clean his/hers theeth would give you toxins.. Bacterias? Why is the white blood cells for? They are there to fight against any viruses or bacterias that came in through the wound.
Overall. The bite mechanic seems interesting in my oppinion. Heh..vampries biting their prey all the time and has orgy just by biting their prey and tasting their blood till they are dry or become servant husks! XD

I like dis. It would make our custom zombie events so much more fun. I also think the toxins thing is a bit off. And considering we are in the space age scientists must have invented a super toothpaste that is filled with nanobots that clean your teeth and run off your bioelectricity, so you only have to brush once in your life.
But as I said, the biting can be put to use in more ways than just a combat move for hoomans. Maybe it could be given to Ian, then anyone keyed in can be a guard dog!! >:3

Nik. One word: FUTURE. And some other words NANOBOTS and ADVANCED FUCKING MEDICAL PROCEDURES. Its not crazy to think that in a age where people are cloned and genetically modified to move shit with their minds people have invent a mouth cleaning method that's atleast more effective.

You can't kill all the shit in your mouth/stomach.
Some of that shit is needed.
And, more to the point, you can't make a discreet nanobot. Because constantly changing bits.
EITHER WAY, I WANNA NUM NUM NOM PEOPLE

YA ME TOO. Just... Lets not go overboard with the toxins thing. I mean... Sure, some people are DIRTY. But I am sure no one has died, or even get any effects, within a few hours. I agree it would be possible, but only after quite a long while. I like the idea that diseases and stuff can get passed on, like for example my char could have dormant virus that said char is immune to, then when nom nom on Raieed he is all of a sudden caffing and coffing.

I actually had a character bite/latch on to a security officer's neck - The human jaw is capable of producing between 55 to 200 pounds of bite pressure - the higher number being the force the molars can output, and the lower number being the incisors/front teeth's maximum force.
Also, according to some google-searched sources, it only takes 5 to 7 pounds of pressure to break the average person's finger, and a little under 20 pounds of pressure to break a person's kneecap. At the very least, bleeding damage should be an option, and maybe if you get a good hard bite on, someone can check dental records and see "Oh, so and so bit this dude."

We need the ability to break teeth. If done, it makes them unable to speak properly.

Plant people have no teeth. Why won't anyone think about the plant people?!
On a more serious note, I do kind of like this idea. It makes for a slightly more realistic situation, but it could also perhaps be a bit silly. Image people running around biting each other for absolutely no reason. It'd be very strange. Also, perhaps it can leave behind DNA that can be scanned by the detective. It can be like *WARNING: FOREIGN DNA DETECTED* and then it lists the DNA of the biter.

So we want the ability to bite, the ability to have teeth broken, and the ability to find out who bit someone.
