I had two tactical boots, cargo pants, a shirt, an Indian long coat and a dogman coat, along with an Indian club, a revolver with four rounds, a Detroit City Tracker, a spear and a compound bow with four arrows. Not including a satchel filled with berries, a pot and a medkit full of medications.
I'm out exploring and I notice, I have no more food. I eat all the berries, but apparently eating an entire satchel of berry's isn't enough to supply sustinence so I just lied down and waited to die. And that's exactly what happened. 17 days, 6 hours.

Seriously though. I never experience death in this game that isn't handed out by a powerful weapon with no possible counter. For example the rifle guy that got me, he shoots. I get hit then I'm stunned. He shoots again and I'm stunned again. That goes on until I'm ded. Unless he gets lucky like the other guy with a one time headshot.
Y'gots ta duck 'n dive, son! Parry, dodge, lure and all that shit.

I do in fact know what I'm talking about Majestic, and it works every time (lyk dis if yu cri evri tym).
I really don't get why you people die by punches. Maybe you have a a negative trait?.. Maybe you're just bad at the vidyaz?.. Maybe the game hates you? Who knows D: That, or the enemy has the 'strong' trait. Yes, you can see their traits while in combat. Having tough usually counters it though, and majority of all other death creating mechanics in game.

So I am becoming a badass in this game on a more regular basis. The most recent attempt, I realized I could create unlimited sharpened spears and campfires with the trapping skill and the multitool earned with the eagle eye skill. I went around killing fucking EVERYTHING. I got a backpack, filled it with meds, a sled with a strap, filled with meat from slain enemies and a couple of empty hunting rifles. I decided to bed down one night, and out of fucking nowhere comes a raider who kicks me to death in my sleep.

Pro Tip only for badasses. Insomniac is more of a positive trait then a negative trait. The only time you want good sleep is when you know the area around you is safe, for example the city. (I think it's called Detroit, not played in a while.)
When you need the full sleep, just pop a sleeping pill or two and you're good to go.
The reason its positive is well... You actually wake up to feel the pain of being mauled to death, like a normal person. That along with other reasons.

Psh, noise traps people. Noise traps (some string, then random junk. Empty bottles, cans whatever, bolts). Super easy to make, and stackable. String up around your campsite and your alertness goes up, also; if you're camping in the woods like a real man, don't forget the fire and sleeping bag and tarp shelter. Brings back memories.
Also, incase you're dragging around a cart load of rotting meat, you can use ash from a fire to cure your meat (make it long lasting). I think it was, fire + long/medium stick + raw meat + ash or something. Can't remember exactly.

You require the trapping skill in order to cure your meat, Majestic.

Like I said. Can't remember. I just remember you being able to make your meat last longer.

You had it all right, you just forgot to include the trapping skill. C:
