This would make traitor target jumpsuits much more valuable. If the Captain is wearing the only Captain's jumpsuit on the station, then it'll be much more difficult to take it from their body as opposed to just emagging their locker 2 minutes before the transfer.
I remember when I was wearing a jumpsuit that wasn't NanoTrasen issue and it raised a few issues, therefore, at the least, this'd give security a purpose to slap neglect of duty on people for a pretty legitimate reason. I do somewhat agree with what Dalek says though. However, I'd like to think that it's a good enough suggestion to override thinking about the whole issue of getting dressed at Centcomm. Plus, it gives the staff jumpsuits in every locker a reason for existing.
Edit: This discussion wasn't retarded at all until you just chimed in with those pointless last two lines.

It doesn't because I doubt the shuttles would work as taxis. Plus after the shift transfer people get back to the Central Command so that would make me think they are coming from Central Command, too. So it's fair to assume they get dressed at the Central Command and then just hop aboard Aurora. inb4 Tuiee tells us how retarded this discussion is and locks the thread. O wait, he needs to be involved for that. I see your point, but personally, I don't agree with it. Central command is only a processing station, paperwork, administration, transport, ERT Staging etc. Yes some people COULD get changed at Central, but lets take a look at some simillar jobs. For example, engineering. They don't go to work wearing their overalls and all the protective gear, do they? Well, depends on where you work, but no. Normally you go to work in your normal clothing and then you put your protective clothing on. So in a way it should probably be said, it depends on your specific job really.

CentComm, if it wasn't an empty husk masquerading as a functional space station, should realistically be bustling with personnel in civilian clothing. It's a central hub for Nanotrasen operations in Tau Ceti, and serves a basically a secondary shuttle station that shoots everyone off in the general direction that they need to go. Since a lot of people are not on duty when on CentComm, and trying to get to the station to be on duty, it would make sense to be wearing civilian clothing. Once you get to your place of employment, you fetch your work clothes from your locker and get dressed.
The only limiting factor I could think of that this could possibly need, is that people who click "Ready" and spawn in at the beginning of the round would not be dressed in their civvy clothes since to be in their offices already on the station implies that they've already been at work for at least a couple of hours already and have not been teleported directly into their comfy chairs (for the sake of argument, disregard the fact that nothing is set up at the moment a round begins).
I really don't see why this would be a problem at all, Dalek. It gives a little more depth to things.
EDIT: Also, the CentComm shuttles do seem to operate EXACTLY like taxis, given that new arrivals can arrive at any time, even in the middle of a crew transfer.
Which brings up a point. If you arrive in the middle of a crew transfer, or even an hour or two before it, you probably should not get on for the sake of RP. The crew transfer serves as an IC way to end a round, not as a reason for everyone to drop their work immediately and rush onto it as soon as it arrives. Really, the only people that should get on a crew transfer shuttle are the ones that spawned in at round start, since someone isn't going to expect full pay for dicking around for twenty minutes before the shuttle arrives.

This. This is what I'm going to start doing from now on.

I wouldn't have an issue with it being included or not; I was just throwing in my two cents. Apologies if that's being mistaken for thread inactivity, but I don't really have a side, so I'm not participating very heavily in the discussion on whether or not it should be included.

I do agree with this, As I had previously mentioned giving the option for everyone to have a 'custom' item to spawn with, from a set list of items that you can re-name and re-define.
I like. I want Raieed showing up half dressed, with bunny slippers and shit.

I don't like the spawning with pre-defined custom items idea. Then you get grey tide grief parties that all spawn with items named GIANT BLACK DRAGON DILDO.

Rusty, predefined list would mean you can select between things like lighter and cig, slippers, etc. The list itself is predefined by code, you cannot do any input other than just selecting what you get.
