I feel we, and whoever added them, did not put much thought into Fire axes. Why, you may ask, is because the entire point of a fire axe is to breach doors and shit, and its only used to breach faces and shit.
And blobs and shit.
Perhaps we need to change the name/sprite and make it something else, or give it the function to breach airlocks. Maybe, instead, name it the Alien Xtermination Effort (A.X.E, get it? eh? eh?), or whatever, but its a bit silly, I think.

IIRC they can open firedoors, like crowbars, and can also be used against wooden barricades and I would assume grilles. Adding an ability to open normal airlocks, perhaps with a 2-5 second delay to allow for trying to jimmy it, would be acceptable IMO, would add another tool to try and enter a room, especially during emergencies.
