Alright! So me and Sphere were talking and we have decided to make a Game of Thrones Roleplay. Now, since we really want people to play this and have fun with it we are leaving the story opened in a way to allow anyone to be able to jump in and play even if they have never watched the show. Now how are we going to do this? Well I am certain that all of you Game Of Thrones fan's reading this want to make your own house right!? Well thats how its going to work!
Everyone who is participating in the RolePlay will make there own house. If you don't know what the houses are just think of it as a royal family that holds land.
(Note. All the history here and such is much more basic then it looks, if your worried about the houses and such, dont be. I will explain how we are going to work around that soon)

- The Geography!
A game of Thrones takes place in the land of Westeros. Westeros is a world roughly equivalent in size to South America. The northern lands of Westeros are less densely populated than the southern lands despite their roughly equivalent size, and much of the far North remains unmapped. This is due in large part to the extreme cold and the presence of hostiles known as wildlings that inhabit the region. Currently there is a giant wall placed between the wilds of the north and the people of Westeros. The wall is maned by an army called the Nights Watch. These is an elite group of men from all walks of live who have come to take on the black and protect the people of Westeros. Those who join must give up all titles, claims, and other things of stature that they hold. You live and die at your post as a member of the Nights Watch. Sadly the group has recently been dropping in support and numbers due to many citizens no longer believing there to be any real threat north of the wall.
Westeros was originally divided into several independent kingdoms. But in the War of Conquest, these various kingdoms were united under the rule of House Targaryen into what is known as the Seven Kingdoms. House Targaryen divided the Seven Kingdoms into four principal regions - North, South, East, and West - and named one of its bannermen as the Wardens and Lord Protectors of each; House Stark the North, House Tyrell the South, House Arryn the East, and House Lannister the West. The five major cities of Westeros are, in order of size: King's Landing, Oldtown, Lannisport, Gulltown, and White Harbour.
Westeros dosent have seasons the way that we do. There seasons can last up to ten years. Winters are hard and long and people die in the thousands. Our story picks up after a five year winter

- Houses (this is where you come in!)
In a Game Of Thones the political landscape in Westeros is divided into nine regions - The North, The Riverlands, The Vale, The Iron Islands, The Westerlands, The Reach, The Crownlands, The Stormlands, and Dorne - and controlled by three groups - Major Houses, Minor Houses, and Independents. For the sake of this RolePlay, every major house in the tv show has been long since destroyed. This is an alternate history were the Targaryans didn't get over throne and the Lanisters aren't around to go and be a general pain in the ass to everyone. So all of us are going to be a Major House claiming on of the nine regions, if we do not get more then eight then the NPC who is the King will hold the titles for the lands not used by a actual player character. A house is a persons last name, so have fun with it! Show how creative you all are. Every house has a sigil, or symbol that they carry on there shields, banners and flags. So think of some!
- What will we be doing?
I am going to be your Game Master but I want to be as hands off as possible. I think all of you guys have amazing writing talent and will do amazing so I really shouldn't need to be saying too much but just don't be stupid. Now, every post is going to last the course of one week. Your not writing about one character, you are writing about your entire house. So maybe the father, who is the lord, may be traveling from the Dorne to Kings Landing. Well nobody wants to read an entire five paragraph post about how the rocks glistened from the rain and how the birds sang a sweet melody...no we want the intrigue and want to know whats going on back home. Everyone can assume whats going on there.
Nobody will be needing to make a super long character sheet to play. Just tell me what Region you want, house name, and that your ready to play an enjoy yourself! This should be a super fun RP that I hope we will all enjoy. As the GameMaster I will be controlling the King, and other factions that most people don't have control over. Also I will be playing as the Lord of the North, House Epidar, though if there is a bunch of people who want to play I will simply be the GM. Any questions you have, just ask in a post below Now! Onto the main thing!
Now, for our plot.
A five year winter has finally ended. Strongholds and keeps are getting back to work, farms are being replanted and livestock replaced. Sadly, over in Kings Landing, the Capitol, the late king on the Iron Throne has died in his sleep, he was 42 of House Raenyr. His fifteen year old nephew Jason Raenyr now sits on the Iron Throne, yet some don't believe his claim is valid. Factions are now working against the boy to help put there own "rightful" heir on the throne. There are also some keeping to the vows made to Jason's father, loyalists ready to but there lives on the line for the boy. Due to the recent winter many Major Houses lack the food necessary to sustain an army. A unwritten, unspoken truce has gone out throughout the realm. Nobody dares to make the first move, knowledge is power for the time being. Spies are moving while armies stand still. A well placed lie is now worth far more than a well placed sword...of course, nobody would admit that. All the houses would like to make believe work goes on as normal. The strong workers in the north quickly recover from the harsh weather and get back to working as they normally do. Masons fix holes preparing for whatever may be coming. Farms in the river lands are being replanted, peasants just happy to be alive. Down in the Dorne, the dark skinned horseriders have saddled back up and are soaring around the desert landscape. A crow was sent to every house with the news. A message tied around the ankle. When it was read, every great Lord knew it, suddenly, all of them were now players. The Game Of Thrones has begun.
