There is lighting as pure RP used to have many different light colours. The pda light used to be a faint blue light. Really cool.

I've always been interested in the use of augmentations, robotic assistance/exo-skeletal attachments and exo-suits (human size, since apparently mech's happen to be exo suits in the tab that pops up?
The technology in the time period we're set in is clearly there, especially if we have borgs that are fully functional for departments and mech's. Some little boosters that'll help you do your job basically. Obviously there would have to be cons to outbalance the more useful tech.
Example: Engineering arm (or whatever, because legs totally work too) Could possibly be a third arm or a replacement to an arm, which would have a full set of engineering tools/equipment.(basically a preset tool belt in your arm) Drawbacks could be; -no hand slot (Think that'll work just by removing of icon and some code) -Increased weight, character moves slower. (Though not sure if that would work out for singular characters rather than globally reducing the speed - though may still be possible) -Since it's mechanical, it'll get damaged from EMP's just like a regular robotic limb, though possibly more damage? as you'd have more tech in your arm to function the tools. -Other stuff that can be on here (note: doesn't have to include all these drawbacks, just ideas)
I'd also say we're moderately cyberpunk, simply due to the fact that we don't bother with skin graphs on robotic limbs to make them more natural. (Don't get me wrong, robotic looks way cooler) You'd think by now science would have been able to apply a method to make skin graphs on robotic limbs functional.

Or simply not made them out of metal, but put a skin-like synthetic covering over the limb.

We need to do a Cyberpunk 2022 game... I watched some guys play it before and it looked awesome.

I am going to be running a RPG soon (if people want to join). Take a look at my post in the secret bookcase.

The issue with SS13 is that it's not cyberpunk. Yeah, they share a lot of themes(Economic inequality, Corporate overlords, Cybernetics, etc.), but it's missing a core theme: Transhumanism. SS13 is in a post Humanism universe. With the ease of cloning, cybernetics, Synthetic Intelligences, all leads up to a Permanent Ego with a malleable Morph. Maybe if the tech was a bit behind, or less reliable it'd be Cyberpunk, but as it stands it's something else. I dunno that's just the way I see it.

Considering we have quite a few new community members... I'm performing necromancy on this to re-open the conversation.

Personal opinion: space opera over cyberpunk. This is kind of the personal preference question, so yeah, there's mine.
This is also the kind of heading the respriting has taken.

I prefer transhumanism, to be honest. It's about using technology to solve problems. Cyberpunk is more of how it won't solve anything.

Well, it's transhumanism over cyberpunk. Spess is still my all-time favorite.
