Don't worry. The ground outpost map will save us from the drudgery of space.

Sea Lab? Oh, it's Rapture from Bioshock. (I'm kidding.)
We just need some better tech ingame... Like, nonlethal crowd suppression 'guns' that fire sound that makes everyone in front of it fall over. Again, that's something that already exists... but I mean, unless you want to start dipping more into the territory of biological research, experimenting with faster-than-light travel and the like... I'm not sure what to say or suggest.

You guys remember the book/movie "Minority Report"? They took place in a future where most stuff had been made nonlethal. So the police had:
Pulse shotguns. They fired a burst of energy that threw you back and knocked you unconscious.
Sick sticks. They were like stun batons, but instead they'd press 'em to your stomach and you'd lose control of your legs/throw up your breakfast.
I kinda want those for sec.

The thing I really wanted for no reason was the Deus Ex Human revolution tranq guns. They were hilarious because it took then like three seconds to kick in.
Oh, and I've always sort of wanted Security to get badass stun sword things that came with a built in stun sheath.

Plus stun based weaponry would take a lot longer to kill someone I assume... so if Security executes you 'accidentally' everyone knows they're fulla shit...

Yeah, It's a bit depressing how little servers have attempted to differentiate themselves from space station, to like, planet bases and underwater and underground and ships and interdimensional prisons and shit.

There's little differentiation because organizing a diverse and dedicated team is a lot harder then it looks. Provided on top of that, BYOND isn't exactly the easiest thing to work with, in terms of how much it poops out on you.
But it's the ones who don't give up that achieve something.

I think underwater is a bit different from space mainly because it's not just Oxygen and no Oxygen. You have Oxygen, no oxygen and water...seeing as how laggy out little game can get just from atmos, imagine throwing in a entire new unit of flowing water. But I do agree with ya. Shocking how nobody has realy done something fresh/new and stuck with it. guess you could say were going to be trailblazers.

people already say space station 13 is the video game version of sealabs... may as well make that 100% true, I guess. though I get the feeling I'd end up flooding the entire station multiple times by accident.
