I was the mod who made that ban, so allow me to shed some light upon the situation. (And to clear it up, I was observing that round. You were not banned by the captain, who was in fact, not a member of the staff.) Firstly, I apologize for not replying to this thread sooner, as I am not exceedingly active on the forums, and it passed under my radar until now, given that it wasn't a ban appeal.

The main reason why we disallow fighting on the transfer shuttle is because it leads to a lot of potential chaos. When you've got most of the server in one concentrated area, and people start fighting, things can turn to crap really fast, and it becomes really hard to contain.

Seeing as most instances of fighting at the end of the round don't really lead to any interesting RP, since the moment the shuttle arrives you've got maybe five minutes until the server restarts (which is really not enough time to start anything new), we ask that people wrap up their conflicts before the shuttle arrives, rather than handling shuttle fights on a case by case basis. Not only do these fights often result in bad happening (from everyone getting mixed up, collateral damage, etc.), but having to moderate them every time something goes wrong would cause a lot of delayed round ends, which is honestly not something people want to have to deal with.

In your case, while the conflict you were in didn't escalate into any more fighting than stuncuffing the captain, it was still a problem as it set a bad example, and encouraged further conflict. I had just made an announcement warning people not to create any new conflicts of a physical nature in or around the shuttle from the moment it docked, and consequently, this wasn't the best way for you to act.

Rather, as a player, you should take the arrival of the emergency/transfer shuttle as a signal of the round's end OOCly. While you should still maintain character after that, for the aforementioned reasons, you are expected not to attempt to stir any more fights, or bring existing ones on the shuttle. As the area you attacked the captain in was immediately next to the shuttle (you were in the hallway right by escape), it was still considered as under the shuttle grief rules, and thus grounds for your ban. As fights near the shuttle tend to devolve into fights in the shuttle, we ask that you refrain from instigating them as well, especially taking into account that escape is also a crowded area.
