Today I was shocked to find out that if you make a smoke grenade of Clonexadone and throw it into a bloody hallway, there is absolutely no Synthmeat created, this is clearly an oversight by the Baystation team and should be fixed ASAP. Additionally it would be very interesting if smoke could apply properties to food and glass in the area (my dream is to be the chemist/chef/bartender, making food and drinks exclusively via grenades, though that is unlikely to happen, I think we can at least make it so I can salt my food remotely.)

I think the reason why it doesn't make synth meat is because blood on the ((dance)) floor isn't measured by units, therefore not in the recipe. If bloody hallways were to produce the meat, then there'd need to be a calculation od how much blood was bled out. But honestly, that sounds like a fun prospect.

Upon further inspection, it seems the issue is that the recipe for Synthmeat is not correctly displayed on the wiki, the recipe actually needs 5 units of Blood and Cloneoxydone, not just one. Feel free to close/delete this thread, this is now just a personal challenge to get 5 units of blood into one square.

That's easy. Slit a throat and let 'em bleed to death. You'll have more than enough units (imagining that blood on the floor is actually measured) for your experiment(s).

I still like the idea of adding elements and causing reactions using smoke on drinks, though.

It appears this is more complicated than I thought, seems the game doesn't store how much of anything is stored on the floor, to an extreme degree (I threw a pill of potassium into the "water" in the pool, and it just sank to the bottom), so the coding is probably really complicated for that, being able to have smoke add units to drinks should be easier (I'm not a code expert, but I think smoke adds a certain number of units to people in the cloud, could add that amount or some fraction of it to glasses.)

Shame on you for trying to blow up the pool. But yes, smoke adds chemicals to people, varying with the colume of the cloud and the units inserted.

Just a few things to note with grenades. Not EVERY chemical will react in them. Some things just don't work, like tricordazine grenades. Reactions most likely require the compounds to be WITHIN a container and not artfully painted on the floors.
Oh, the pool is not actually made of water, it's just a sprite overlay that is activated upon round start. Crowbar the 'water' in the pool and the truth will be revealed.
Edit: oh and one little thing too, for those who don't know. Smoke does nothing aside from excreting the contents which it is mixed with into a 'gas' form, or smoke rather. Meaning you can have deadly substances spread out in pretty colours.
